In the 1950s following on the heels of the successful Dragnet series, other police dramas hit the scenes. The Lineup was a hardboiled production that followed Detective Ben Guthrie, played by Bill Johnstone. Each episode began with a predictable scene involving a police lineup. “May I have your attention please? You people on the other side of the wire in the audience room, may I have your attention please…I’ll explain the lineup to you.” Today’s episode is titled “Two Young Girls Killed by Hit and Run Driver” and its from August 3, 1950.
