The inimitable Dashiell Hammett was best known for creating Sam Spade, of which in terms of my favorite radio detectives Howard Duff is second only to Bob Bailey’s Johnny Dollar as my favorite. Still, Hammett also created one of the most well-known detective couples, Nick and Nora Charles in The Thin Man. If you’ve ever seen the movie you know that just as important as William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora is “Asta” the wire terrier, played by Skippy! This is a Lux Radio production of the Thin Man from June 8, 1936. Enjoy!
