Study of a Murderer

Hello again!  Welcome to The Soundbox! I’m your host Candace Sessums. Actor William Conrad’s birthday was September 27, 1920.  He had tremendous range as an actor, and many of us probably remember him best for playing the hard, tough Matt Dillon on radio’s Gunsmoke.  But he could play the villain too, or sometimes even complex antiheros like his character in the movie The Ride Back with Anthony Quinn.  Today I have an episode of Suspense titled “Study of a Murderer” in which Conrad portrays a man determined to finish a murder he never even started.  Let’s have a listen to “Study of a Murderer” from October 1, 1951
